Proximity-based video delivery architecture for LTE networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
ELECT Out of total mobile data traffic, mobile video traffic accounts for 55%. Massive increase in mobile video traffic trend and simultaneous proliferation in smart devices strains the expanding cellular network that triggers the demand to retain the quality of video. To fortify this challenge, proximity-based video delivery architectures are put forward. Four novel architectures are proposed depending on the location of the users, which tends to reduce load on video servers and core network elements. Through realistic simulation results, it is proved that the present system procures up to 69.15% increase in throughput, 40.81% decrease in end-to-end delay and 92% reduction in jitter as compared with the traditional 4G long term evolution (LTE)/LTE-A system. The proposed video dispatching architecture outperforms the existing strategy by 53% and increases the cell capacity up to four times compared with the current 4G LTE/LTE-A networks.

Mobile video services are becoming a dominant traffic category in emerging fourth generation (4G) cellular networks such as the 3GPP Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and LTE-Advanced (LTE-A). In particular, mobile video unicasting services based on 3GPP Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) and multicasting/broadcasting services based on 3GPP evolved Multimedia Multicast/Broadcast Service (eMBMS...
متن کاملEnhancing Video Delivery in the LTE Wireless Access Using Cross-Layer Mechanisms
The current evolution of the global Internet data traffic shows an increasing demand of video transmissions, which potentially leads to the saturation of mobile networks. To cope with this issue, this paper describes techniques to handle the video traffic load in the last hop, of the communication network, i.e., the wireless access. The general idea is to benefit from a crosslayer architecture ...

Wireless technology is continuously evolving, and the development of new versions of adaptive protocols and mechanisms are at their peak to achieve high performance in network-based applications and services. LTE networks offer broadband wireless access to users who can benefit from high data rate applications such as video streaming. However, the high energy consumption of these applications h...
متن کاملThe Feedback Based Mechanism for Video Streaming Over Multipath Ad Hoc Networks
Ad hoc networks are multi-hop wireless networks without a pre-installed infrastructure. Such networks are widely used in military applications and in emergency situations as they permit the establishment of a communication network at very short notice with a very low cost. Video is very sensitive for packet loss and wireless ad-hoc networks are error prone due to node mobility and weak links. H...
